Summer Show 6 July 2013 (View the gallery)

Our Summer show was much enjoyed by everybody despite the fact that the entries of vegetables and fruits were very low for obvious reasons. The judges praised the high standard of entries and were impressed with the good organisation of the show. Vistiors enjoyed the colourful display as well as a cup of tea and a piece of home-made cake.

Gardening Quiz at the Kent Garden Show

Saturday saw the first match on all things horticultural between Bredhurst Gardening Society and our team, Mary Duke, Jenny Cracknell and Maureen Taylor.

Our team was pleased to see that they were well supported by members of our Society who had been given free entry tickets and won the very even-handed match with 23 points to 19 points. The teams were given geraniums of their choice as a price. Jaqueline Aviolet, our last speaker, was the question master and contributed greatly to an entertaining afternoon. Monday will see the Hardy Plant Society and the Alpine Society battling it out.
